Support to Imani Children’s Home
Pambazuko Patron Hon. Martha Karua Holds a baby during a visit to Imani Childrens' home on valentine's day on 14th feb 2012
Imani means "faith" in Kiswahili, and that is precisely what Faith Ndegwa is doing—instilling faith in children who have had no care that someone cares enough for them to focus all their energies on giving them a better life. Imani Children’s Home is a charitable children institution (CCI) registered with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social development. They have 3 homes in Kayole, Nairobi and Malindi. Imani runs 3 welfare programs—rescue centre for abandoned children, rehabilitation pro-gram and a getaway recreation centre, which serve as extensive custody for the children based on their individual needs. With the support of Pambazuko and the friends of Pambazuko, Imani is receiving support towards achieving food sustenance for their children. Phase one of the chicken rearing project situated in Ngong is completed and this year’s charity golf tournament will support phase two of the project. Faith Ndegwa, we upload you for your heart of gold.
